This nursing foundations course applies concepts of the nursing metaparadigm, self care and the nursing process in providing safe nursing care. The learner will develop nursing care plans and learn to prioritize nursing care using time management skills. The course examines strategies for communicating essential client information to members of the interdisciplinary health care team in simulated clinical settings. A laboratory component is included in which learners apply theory and practise nursing skills related to activities of daily living and medication administration. Prerequisites: PN 155 and PN 158 Co-requisite: PHARM 130
