This course gives students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in the clinical setting. Students are expected to manage an ambulance call at the start of the practicum. They will be under the supervision of a preceptor to ensure the advanced life support (ALS) concepts are appropriately incorporated into patient care. Emphasis is placed on history taking, physical assessments, field diagnosis, ALS techniques, ALS treatment, and interpersonal skills.
