An exploration of a variety of cognitive exceptionalities including intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and neurobiological conditions common to students in the classroom. The focus is on strategies and accommodations to support students with these exceptionalities. Mild, moderate, and severe cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) are examined Prerequisite: Enrolled in the EA certificate program OR if you are employed in the early learning child care field a letter from your employer on a company letterhead indicating you work with children ages birth to school age.
